Never thought of that...they had some policy when the bird flu was going around that if school was closed that sports would not be played or maybe it is like a snow day where it depends on the school? It would really suck if they had to forfeit.
grow up and start paying your fair share , go back to work sick of state workers bitching about benifets that the normal citizen lost 2-3 years ago. get over it and make this better. Walker for PREZ!!!!
Watching Criminal Minds (awesome show) and the scrolling banner says Madison and Oregon schools are closed Thursday. Was confussed so checked weather channel thinking we may be in for another blizzard but it says 54 and rain, any idea what is going on? Any idea if regional games will be played?
Waunakee, Verona and Middleton just closed looks like McFarland and Edgewood in the sectional finals. Come on McFarland here is your chance....what are you gonna do?
teachers were required to show up is stoughton, so does that mean we can still play hockey? We played on Martin Luther King Dy when the students had off, So why is this different?
school was scheduled to be closed on MLK day, it was not today.....rumor from wis prep hockey is that they will play. If teachers were required to show up then how come school was closed, can't have it both ways
no school because there are not enough sub teachers out there. Teachers were told to report, forcing them to take a sick day, schedueled or not it makes no sense to me.
ALL WIAA tournament games will be played as scheduled per WIAA by laws which basically state that games will only be canceled if school is closed to a significant health or weather impact. School was closed for neither reason, there are no travel issues so games will be played. This is official per the WIAA
Congratulations to Madison West for winning against SP, I'm happy for that group of kids who have really worked hard and really improved over the past few years. They just don't have the horsepower to play with the better teams, and unfortunately I don't see that changing. I've heard they were pretty confident coming into the Edgewood game, that lasted all of about 30 seconds...
Since we haven't heard from "Sucks Guy" on this string yet, I'm assuming he's either a State Senator hiding out in Illinois, or a teacher down at the Capitol with the rest of the nut jobs!
Tough loss for West. West d-man deflected a shot from the point into the top shelf in the first minute, and they took too many penalties. I think they will have some success next year as a result of two things, only 3 players graduating(10 seniors next year) and a much weaker sectional in general. Verona will be the team to be in the Big Eight next year. SP, Janesville, Middleton and West in the mix after that.
Next year, this thread is for the playoffs this year. Live in the present not the future. If if's and buts were candy and nuts we'd all have a Merry Christmas.

ReplyDeletePurple Kol-Aid is mixed , blinders are on. GAME ON!!! GO VIKINGS!!
ReplyDeleteToo bad about that darn rule as a prolonged school outage would have been Edgewood's best shot to get by Middleton
ReplyDeletebig 8 sucks
ReplyDeleteI'd say beating Middleton is the best shot for Edgewood getting by Middleton.
ReplyDeletefor such a deep sectional, it's already down to 2 teams, why even play the games? We could save alot of money for the WIAA!
